A pair of Tactical Units Police Officers from different walks of life come together to rescue an ambassador’s daughter.

Hot Dog is a German comedy film starring Til Schweiger, Matthias Schweighöfer, Anne Schäfer and Lisa Tomaschewsky. It is the another German film produced by Barefoot Films, Erfttal Film and Pantaleon Films and distributed by Warner Bros. The film was released in Germany and Austria on January 18, 2018.

Hot Dog Full Movie Review:

Two of Germanys biggest movie stars in one buddy-cop movie… Hm, sounds like gold, doesn’t it? Well, here everyone on this picture did everything wrong. Start with an uninspired script which wants to be a comedy but clearly isn’t. Hardly anyone laughed in the theater (including me). Audience of roughly 20 people on the opening eve. Til Schweiger plays the bad and tough cop and Matthias Schweighöfer plays the dumb or silly or the cop who doesn’t even know why he is in the film the first time. There is just an overkill of product placement grossly placed, like Mercedes, McDonald and many more, which make no sense either. Avoid at all cost.

It’s really a bad movie. Now it tries to be funny with it’s sexism and all the other isms it depicts as in “we say something inappropriate but we make jokes, so we are good, right?” … but hiding behind the mantle of bad jokes does not work. Having said that, if you are of a certain age and have a taste for this kind of humor you may find things hillarious.
