The Banished 2019 Film Review:

Well, I will say that “Caliban” (aka “The Banished”) wasn’t your average run-of-the-mill horror movie, for better or worse. I suppose that means that some might not overly enjoy the movie as it turned out to be. The Banished reminds me a lot of Memento (moreso in how it plays out, with the mystery unraveling the further you watch). It’s one of those horror films that has minimal jumpscares and focuses on filling you with as much excitement, tension, and creeping dread as possible.

There’s a lot of tight shots and close ups and they do work more than well enough to convey the story. Overall, you absolutely, DEFINITELY must check The Banished out. It is so very incredibly good and probably going to be one of the best horror films of 2019.

After the death of her mother, a London girl travels to Greenvale, New York to claim her remains. Once there, she encounters a bizarre and sinister man who appears to be connected to her mother. After that, bizarre events occur that unravel this already ominous mystery.
